Dunragit

The Dunragit web pages cover several seasons of archaeological excavations in the Dumfriesshire and Wigtownshire area of southern Scotland between 1994 and 2002. The main focus of the site is on the daily diary page reports from the excavations at Dunragit between 1999 and 2002 although earlier excavations at other locations are covered in the form of annual reports. The pages started as part of my MSc dissertation on Web pages and Archaeology in 1999 but continued to develop over the next four years with the site moving from Southampton University to the server at Manchester University in 2001. The site was intended to provide a daily update on the progresses of the excavation aimed at anyone with a general interest in the site and archaeology. The site also provided more detailed analysis of the excavations in the form of Interim reports on various aspects of the archaeology
